	INSTRUCTOR JESSE BECOMES A MARINE Congratulations to my son and one of our top Instructors Jesse. Jesse graduated from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego on April 11th. The whole family and all the students from Bei Shaolin are very proud of you.

	2008 April Tournament The competition was fierce but the students of Bei Shaolin rose to the challenge as their ten member team won nineteen trophies on April 5^th in Los Fresnos....

	2008 MARCH TOURNAMENT The T.A.S.K. tournament season started with a bang on March 1^st in Weslaco. After a four month break our students were eager to challenge themselves in competition. Our fourteen member team from Harlingen and San Benito won a phenomenal twenty-nine trophies. Eleven of these were first place victories.

	Competitor of the year On December 7th the T.A.S.K. organization held it's annual awards banquet. My son Kevyn was named competitor of the year for the second year in a row. He received several prizes including a $75 gift card for accumulating the most points from tournament victories this year. Great job son, I am so proud of you!!!!!

	2007 T.A.S.K. State Championship On November 10^th the tournament season came to an end as our students competed in the T.A.S.K. State Championships. Our nineteen member team won an impressive 32 trophies.

	2007 SHAOLIN MONK SEMINAR On October 20th our Master the Shaolin Monk De Shan gave a seminar at our school. Da Sifu taught the forms Da Hong Chuan and Feng Mo Gune. Thank you Sifu for taking the time to help our students knowledge of Kung Fu continue to grow and improve.

	2007 OCTOBER TOURNAMENT The last qualifying tournament for the T.A.S.K. State Championship was held on October 13^th in Edinburg. Our ten member team from Harlingen and San Benito really showed what we are made of as they brought home twenty six trophies.

	2007 BEI SHAOLIN TOURNAMENT Once again one of the largest tournaments held in the Rio Grande Valley was the Bei Shaolin Open Invitational. The tournament was held on September 22^nd at the beautiful Veterans Memorial Academy in San Benito. The tournament has become such a big event that the Valley Morning Star wrote not one but two separate front page color articles. We had twenty-four of our students from Harlingen and eleven students from the San Benito After School Program bring home an amazing forty-eight trophies.

	2007 August Tournament Everyone of our ten member team won at least one trophy on August 11^th in Edinburg. The overall total was an impressive 22 trophies one of the highest win ratio totals in Bei Shaolin Kung Fu history.

	2007 JULY TOURNAMENT Once again the students of Bei Shaolin rose to the challenge. This time the team traveled to Roma Texas on July 21^st to compete in Marie Pena’s first tournament sanctioned by the T.A.S.K.(Texas Amateur Sport Karate). The ten member team consisting of five students from the Harlingen school and five students from the S.B.I.S.D. After School Program won nineteen trophies.
